Lil' Pear Tree Freeze Dry

What is Freeze Drying?

Freeze drying is a method of preserving the natural beauty, color and integrity of your flowers. It produces superior results when compared to other floral preservation methods like air drying, pressing or silica. At Lil' Pear Tree, we have mastered the art of Freeze Dry Preservation and use the latest technology.

What steps should you take to keep your flowers in the best condition possible before you get to us?

Recut the stems of your flowers and place them in water. Store them someplace cool and above freezing. If you refrigerate, keep them away from the blower on the top since it can freeze flowers. If you store them in a basement or garage, again, be sure temperatures do no go below the freezing mark.

How It Works...
The fresher your flowers the better they will freeze dry. Being out of town is not a problem. We are easy to get to just off of Business 10's Saginaw Rd. exit or ship them to us via UPS and we take care of the rest!  Once
we have your flowers we take photographs for a record of the condition, measure a bouquet (if it's a bridal keepsake) colors, and design of your flowers.   We chemically pre-treat each individual flower.  Flowers are then frozen solid where they await to be loaded into the freeze dryer.  When the the freezer is full, the flowers are loaded one tray at a time, which can take 1.5-2 days to complete. Once the freeze drying cycle of 14 days begins, we contact all clients who have flowers that are in that load.

Keepsakes are ordered once it is paid for in full. We begin to design the keepsakes in a given load as the keepsakes arrive and in the order flowers were received from our clients. When you keepsake is designed, we will text a picture to you for your approval. You may approve from the picture or you may come into the store to approve it before we seal it.

Our contract currently states that it can take up to 6 months for your keepsake to be completed but with our focus being on preservation, we are hoping to shorten that time.
