Lil' Pear Tree Freeze Dry
What is Freeze Drying?
Freeze drying is a way to preserve the natural beauty and shape of your flowers. It produces superior results when compared to other floral preservation methods like air drying, pressing or silica gel. At Lil' Pear Tree, we of have mastered the art of Freeze dry and use the latest in preservation technology.
When do I need to bring my flowers in to be Freeze Dried?
In order for the flowers to be preserved to the best condition we recommend keeping them in plenty of water, in the fridge- away from the blower (blower could freeze the flowers causing them to become damaged before chemicals are applied) Bring them into Lil' Pear Tree ASAP so that we can start the chemical process to preserve the color and texture. We like to receive your flowers as soon as possible.
How It Works...
The fresher your flowers the better they will freeze dry. Being out of town is not a problem, simply ship us the flowers via UPS and we take care of the rest! Once we have your flowers we take photographs for a record of the condition, colors, and design of your flowers. Dimensions for bouquets are taken to ensure a perfect fit in your keepsake. We pre-treat each individual flower which also includes taking apart bouquets. Flowers are then stored in the freezer. When the the freezer is full, the flowers are moved into the freeze dryer. The freeze dryer runs for two weeks.
While your flowers are being processed, we work with you to pick out the perfect keepsake. When your flowers are out of the freeze dryer and designed according to what was discussed during the consultation, we will send you a picture for approval. We also welcome you to come in and approve your keepsake in person. Upon your approval, we will mount and seal your flowers in the keepsake. We will notify you when your keepsake is ready for pick-up. From start to finish, the process typically takes up to 4 months. We look forward to working with you, and transforming your flowers into a unique lasting piece of art.
